Anton Landolt and Eugen Hostettler – Breaking new ground for Ecolight aircraft in Switzerland

Ecolight aircraft enjoy popularity in the aviation sector primarily as a result of their environmentally friendly, small capacity engines and their light weight. In view of their technological advantages, it is even more astonishing that motorised, series-production aircraft were banned in 1984 on environmental grounds. Anton Landolt and Eugen Hostettler were leading lights in the campaign against the ultralight ban in Switzerland and, after many years of trying, eventually succeeded in getting the ban repealed.
