ARTS offers regular training courses for aircraft cabin interior design. We are looking for applicants who are certified in a wood-processing occupations such as carpenters, modelers and shipwrights; or, alternatively, metalworkers with experience in woodworking.

Duties of an aircraft cabin interior designer

  • Assembly of cabin equipment and components, such as side panels, hatracks and partitions
  • Installation of large-scale components, such as sanitary and kitchen facilities, with the requisite follow-up works and system tests
  • Fitting of passenger seats
  • Causal analysis and error correction for systemic failures according to validated operating procedures and schematics
  • Documentation of performed operations and works

  • Aviation studies
  • Human factors
  • Technical English
  • Schematic systems
  • Processing and handling aviation-specific metallic materials
  • Processing and handling carbon-fiber composite materials


  • Completed vocational training in a wood-processing or, alternatively, metalworking occupation
  • Preferably with multiple years of professional experience in your field
  • Good knowledge of standard Office applications
  • Fluent German proficiency
  • Basic English proficiency is a plus
  • Technical dexterity and general creativity
  • Readiness, dedication and dependability

Procedures for the training course

The training course lasts four months in total. A three-month theoretical phase is followed by a one-month internship at a renowned European aerospace company.

Upon completion of the qualification, we can offer you a position as an interior aircraft mechanic for one of our clients.
