The gross annual salary is, depending on qualifications, max. 63,141 €. This position is initially to be filled on a fixed-term basis until 31.07.2027. Responsibilities
- Aerodynamic analysis of aircraft shapes using numerical, experimental, and theoretical methods for highly agile low aspect ratio aircraft
- Preliminary and detailed design of aerodynamic aircraft shapes based on analysis results in a multidisciplinary environment
- Software toolchain optimization through the development of scripts based on prescribed requirements
- Mathematical modeling of aerodynamic aircraft characteristics across the full flight envelope (aerodynamic dataset)
- Project coordination and timely, cost-effective, high-quality delivery of aerodynamic solutions and data to the customer
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with all disciplines relevant to flight physics, such as structures, loads, flight dynamics, and mass
Qualifications
- Successfully completed degree (at least Master's/Diploma) in Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent subject
- Several years of professional experience as a Design Engineer, ideally in the aerospace industry
- Sound knowledge of the capabilities and limits of numerical and experimental aerodynamic methods and tools
- Experience in applying the complete toolchain for high-fidelity CFD simulations (mesh generation, linear and non-linear iterative solvers, discretization methods for PDEs)
- Knowledge of parametric 3D CAD shape design (e.g., CATIA V5)
- Programming skills in at least one common programming language (e.g., Python, C, C++)
- Very good German skills (at least C1) and business fluent English (at least C1)
- CV in English required
- Analytical thinking, teamwork, and independent working style
- A valid, unrestricted work permit for the European Union (no student visa) is mandatory
