At Airbus Defence and Space GmbH in Manching, you will work as a Systems Engineer Mission Data Systems to develop the next generation of ground support systems for modern combat aircraft. You will design software for the preparation, testing, and evaluation of mission data libraries – a key component for electronic warfare and defensive aids systems.

The gross annual salary is, depending on qualifications, max. 63,141 €. This position is initially to be filled on a fixed-term basis until 30.06.2027. Responsibilities


  • System Analysis: Analysis of avionics system designs, requirements, and customer needs
  • Requirements Definition: Definition and adaptation of design requirements for mission data generation software, including workflow definition
  • Function Development: Further development of functions such as emitter data extraction, mission data programming, data management, and consistency checks, considering overarching architectural goals
  • Technical Documentation: Creation of technical documentation such as software requirements specifications, interface control documents, and test plans based on system specifications
  • Automated Testing: Development of automated, executable tests for verifying technical specifications
  • Customer Communication: Participation in and preparation of meetings with customer representatives and internal stakeholders
  • Agile Methodology: Supporting the further development of agile ways of working as a team task


Qualifications

  • Successfully completed Master's or Diplom degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Many years of professional experience in IT/information systems and in the aerospace industry
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the systems/software engineering lifecycle and experience in all phases
  • Working knowledge in at least one of the following specialty areas: self-defensive systems, radar systems, or electronic support systems
  • Knowledge of Electronic Warfare principles and interest in mission data for Electronic Warfare Support
  • Detailed specialist knowledge of MS-Office and DOORS
  • Knowledge of requirements analysis and design of web-based application software user interfaces
  • Business fluent English (at least C1); German knowledge is an advantage
  • CV in English language required
  • Team player, independent working method, and high quality awareness
  • A valid, unrestricted work permit for the European Union (no student visa) is mandatory
