Responsibilities
- Customs law advisory and support for internal departments on all customs matters, including export control and rules of origin
- Document review of customs declarations and other customs-relevant documents prepared by the operational customs service provider
- Goods classification according to customs tariff numbers (HS codes), providing support and coordination
- Procedure monitoring of compliance with customs procedures and regulations for import, export, and transit
- Authority communication with customs authorities and external service providers
- Audit handling of customs inspections and audits, taking full responsibility
- Data maintenance and updating of customs-relevant data and systems
- Process optimization in the customs area, identifying and implementing improvements
Qualifications
- Completed commercial apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant, forwarding agent, or comparable, ideally with further training as a technician / business administrator
- Several years of professional experience in customs processing and export control
- In-depth knowledge of German and European customs law (UCC)
- Proficient use of SAP, particularly the GTS customs module is an advantage
- Business fluent German (at least C1) and English (at least C1)
- Independent, structured, and results-oriented way of working
- Strong communication skills and assertiveness
- A valid, unrestricted work permit for the European Union (no student visa) is mandatory
