Tasks
- Project definition and implementation of materials & processes research & technology projects with a focus on surfaces, paints, coatings, and fiber composites
- Management of research and technology projects throughout the program nomination process, including performance, deadline, and results tracking
- Technical contribution to the preparation of external funding and development contracts, e.g., aviation research program (LuFo) and Clean Aviation
- Close cooperation with research institutes, universities, external partners, and material suppliers for technology development and validation
- Collaboration on optimization and simplification initiatives for innovative, advanced assembly processes in the airframe environment
- Coordination and consultation with interfaces such as manufacturing, engineering, design & stress, customer services, and program teams
- Active promotion of innovation and evaluation of new technologies for industrial applicability
Qualifications
- Completed degree in engineering, technical studies, or materials science/materials engineering/materials technology
- Several years of professional experience in engineering, research and development, materials engineering/materials technologies
- Good knowledge of project management and process management, ideally also in project lifecycle management
- Experience with laboratory testing for surfaces, paints, and coatings is an advantage
- Good knowledge of Google Workspace
- Advanced German (at least B2); business fluent English (at least C1)
- Flexible willingness to travel: approx. twice a month to Hamburg or Stade, possibly once a month throughout Europe
- CV in English required
- A valid, unrestricted work permit for the European Union (no student visa) is mandatory
