At Airbus Operations GmbH in Hamburg-Finkenwerder, you will work as a Structure Repair Engineer within the team for major repairs on aircraft fuselages. You will analyze damage reports, develop and validate metallic components and assemblies, and optimize them in terms of weight, cost, and performance. Your daily coordination with internal and external interfaces is crucial for project success.

Responsibilities


  • Repair design: Development and validation of metallic components and assemblies, optimizing weight, cost, and performance
  • Damage analysis: Evaluation of damage reports and development of repair solutions
  • Solution development: Conception and optimization of repair solutions regarding material, manufacturing, and cost-effectiveness
  • Interface coordination: Daily coordination with internal and external customer representatives and other departments
  • Design tools: Application of appropriate design tools for repair planning
  • Process optimization: Continuous improvement of repair procedures and processes


Qualifications

  • Successfully completed degree in engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a comparable technical field (at least Bachelor's)
  • Several years of professional experience in aircraft construction and design
  • Initial experience in project management
  • Experience in the Airbus environment is required
  • Detailed specialist knowledge of Catia V5 as well as in-depth application knowledge of PDMlink A350, Taksy/Gesy/Tesy, and VPM A350
  • Basic knowledge of change management and minimal knowledge of civil aviation (CA) documentation
  • Knowledge of composite materials is advantageous
  • Proficient German (at least B2) and business fluent English (at least C1); French language skills are advantageous
  • Customer service experience is advantageous
  • High level of teamwork, strong communication skills, and independent working style
  • A valid, unrestricted work permit for the European Union (no student visa) is mandatory
