The gross annual salary is, depending on qualifications, max. 63,141 €. This position is initially to be filled on a fixed-term basis until 31.12.2026. Responsibilities
- Inverse Design: Explore data-driven methods and machine learning to accelerate the design of advanced materials
- Research Projects: Develop and propose concepts in the field of inverse design of composite materials and coating technologies
- Scientific Research: Execute projects independently within a transnational organization and an international network
- Knowledge Exchange: Maintain and advance the state of the art within the Airbus materials and surface technology ecosystem
- Technical Expertise: Acquire and apply high-level skills in AI/machine learning, data-driven materials design, and optimization routines
Qualifications
- Completed Master's or Diplom degree in Computer Science or a comparable field
- Several years of professional experience in IT / information systems
- Good understanding of digital tools for materials design and development based on artificial intelligence / machine learning
- Basic understanding of the mechanical, thermal, and interfacial properties of materials and composites
- Proficient use of MS Office; knowledge of C++, machine learning, and edge computing is required
- Business fluent German (at least C1) and business fluent English (at least C1)
- Good command of data-driven approaches for solving complex problems in materials science
- Transnational and open mindset, scientific curiosity, analytical thinking, and teamwork skills
- A valid, unrestricted work permit for the European Union (no student visa) is mandatory
