For our client HENSOLDT Optronics, we are looking for an Embedded Software Developer at the Oberkochen site. You will develop and maintain a cross-sectional software platform for highly complex, electro-mechanically stabilized optronic systems – from conception to integration in defense applications.

The gross annual salary is, depending on qualifications, max. 73,555 €. This position is initially to be filled on a fixed-term basis until 30.06.2027. Responsibilities
- Software Platform Development: Conception, development, and maintenance of a cross-sectional platform for optronic sighting systems
- Requirements Engineering: Creation and maintenance of software specifications
- Platform Enhancement: Cross-sectional and specific further development of the platform and associated development processes
- Middleware Programming: Automation of distributed systems using CAN bus and Ethernet
- Object-Oriented Development: Software development in C++ for Buildroot Linux, QNX, and FreeRTOS
- Agile Software Development: Planning and implementation in a team using agile methods
- Modern Development Tools: Use of git, Jira, Confluence, CMake, Catch2, SQLite, Buildroot, and Enterprise Architect
Qualifications
- Successfully completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or Mechatronics (at least Bachelor's)
- Many years of professional experience in software development, ideally over 5 years
- Experience in software architecture description using UML in Enterprise Architect and in object-oriented development with C++ (17/23) for Buildroot Linux, QNX, and FreeRTOS
- Knowledge of Requirements Engineering and specification creation in DOORS, as well as middleware programming (e.g., MQTT, DDS, CANopen)
- Business fluent German (at least C1) and business fluent English (at least C1)
- Independent working style, team skills, high willingness to learn, and pronounced performance and quality awareness
- A valid, unrestricted work permit for the European Union (no student visa) is mandatory
