The gross annual salary is, depending on qualifications, max. 88,061 €. This position is initially to be filled on a fixed-term basis until 15.01.2027. Responsibilities
- Failure Analysis on a wide range of materials and components, especially aerospace alloys for structural applications
- Material Characterization using analytical methods such as metallography, chemical analysis, and testing
- Fractographic Analysis to determine the failure mechanism on aircraft structures and parts
- Reporting: Preparation of comprehensive, high-quality investigation reports detailing findings and conclusions
- Process Coordination and interface management with internal stakeholders for ongoing laboratory activities
- Safety and Quality assurance for equipment and assets used during failure investigations
Qualifications
- Successfully completed degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a comparable technical field (at least Bachelor's)
- Several years of professional experience in research and development or engineering
- Experience in materials testing and materials technology, ideally with a focus on metallography and fractography
- Knowledge in applying analytical methods such as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), light microscopy, and metallurgical sample preparation
- Proficient German language skills (at least B2) and business fluent English (at least C1)
- CV in English required
- Analytical thinking, structured and independent working style, as well as strong communication skills
- A valid, unrestricted work permit for the European Union (no student visa) is mandatory
