At Airbus Defence and Space GmbH in Taufkirchen / Munich, you will take on operational responsibility for satellite missions in all phases as a Satellite Operations Engineer. You will develop and optimize flight procedures, validate control systems, and ensure the smooth operation of spacecraft – from planning to anomaly management.

The gross annual salary is, depending on qualifications, max. 69,809 €. This position is initially to be filled on a fixed-term basis until 30.06.2028. Responsibilities


  • Satellite operations: Plan, execute, and monitor operations across all mission phases
  • Flight procedures: Develop, validate, and continuously optimize operational procedures
  • Mission control systems: Support the development, implementation, and validation of systems (Mission Control System, automation, flight dynamics)
  • System verification: Conduct and document verification tests for ground and satellite systems
  • Anomaly management: Ensure effective anomaly and emergency management during satellite operations
  • Training: Design and deliver training for satellite and ground control systems
  • Mission planning: Drive mission planning and overall system automation
  • Telemetry analysis: Responsible for satellite telemetry analysis and trend reporting


Qualifications

  • Successfully completed Master's or Diplom degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Many years of professional experience (at least 5 years) in aerospace, specifically in satellite operations or satellite system development
  • Very good knowledge of satellite systems (e.g., AOCS, OBDH, TTC, payload, power, thermal) and experience with satellite databases
  • Good programming skills; knowledge of flight dynamics is an advantage
  • Business fluent German (at least C1) and business fluent English (at least C1)
  • Teamwork skills, analytical thinking, and independent working style
  • A valid, unrestricted work permit for the European Union (no student visa) is mandatory
