The gross annual salary is, depending on qualifications, max. 57,075 €. This position is initially to be filled on a fixed-term basis until 30.04.2027. Responsibilities
- High-performance applications in C++ (C++17 or later) design, implement, and test
- Cross-platform software for Unix and Windows environments develop and maintain
- Build systems manage with CMake and optimize development workflows
- System architecture contribute to and apply sound software design principles
- Simulation tools and frameworks for distributed systems further develop
- gRPC communication between distributed services implement and integrate
- Code reviews conduct and write clean, well-documented code
- Emerging technologies such as AI/ML and model-based control paradigms (MCP) incorporate
Qualifications
- Successfully completed degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (at least Bachelor's)
- Several years of professional experience in software development with a solid understanding of systems architecture and software design principles (e.g., modularity, scalability, performance optimization)
- Experience in simulation development (e.g., physics engines, real-time systems, numerical modeling)
- Strong proficiency in C++ with practical experience in C++17 or newer; experience with CMake for build systems
- Business fluent English (at least C1); German language skills are desirable
- Experience with gRPC/Protobuf, multi-threading, network programming, and cross-platform development (Unix/Linux and Windows)
- Knowledge of version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and debugging tools
- Technical precision, problem-solving ability, and willingness to learn
- A valid, unrestricted work permit for the European Union (no student visa) is mandatory
