Job Description – Process Mechanic in Aerospace at ARTS
Group
In an aerospace Process Mechanic job, you take charge of operating, monitoring, and
maintaining the equipment that produces high performance parts. Whether CFRP structures
for fuselage, wings, or empennage, bonding processes for load bearing assemblies, or
specialty coatings for corrosion protection you ensure every material is processed exactly to
spec and every process parameter is documented.
Your tasks at a glance:
- Operating and setting up equipment for CFRP and GFRP production (prepreg processing, RTM, hand lay up, infusion processes)
- Controlling curing processes in autoclaves, hot presses, and ovens, including temperature and pressure logging
- Performing coating, paint, and surface treatment processes for aerospace components
- Adhesive, joining, and bonding processes for load bearing and non load bearing structural parts per aerospace specifications
- Monitoring and adjusting process parameters (temperature, pressure, mix ratios, curing curves)
- Maintenance, cleaning, and setup of production and process equipment
- Initial inspections and visual checks immediately after process completion
- Complete documentation of process data in aerospace compliant systems
- Contributing to the optimization of process workflows and material quality
- Work under cleanroom or clean zone conditions depending on the process
- Compliance with EN 9100, NADCAP, and manufacturer specific material approvals
In aerospace manufacturing, every process parameter counts. A deviating curing curve or
wrong mix ratio can render entire parts unusable. That's exactly why our Process Mechanics
work with qualified equipment, traceable process instructions, and established release
paths. You take responsibility for material, process, and documentation and therefore for the
safety of the end product.

Your Areas of Deployment
ARTS supports projects at several strategic aerospace locations in Germany and France.
We deploy Process Mechanics and process technicians where composite production,
surface treatment, and material processing set the pace in civil aviation programs, military
projects, and helicopter manufacturing.
Stade
At the Airbus composite center in Stade, structural components such as vertical and horizontal stabilizers and pressure bulkheads are manufactured for the A320 family and the A350. You work directly on autoclaves, prepreg facilities, and curing processes for CFRP parts. Stade is considered one of the most modern composite plants in Europe a central hub for Process Mechanics in aerospace.
Hamburg
In Hamburg Finkenwerder, you take responsibility for painting, coating, and bonding processes for the A320 family and the A350. Focus areas are surface refinement, bonding processes for structural components, and pretreatments for final assembly.
Our Projects in Germany
Bremen
In Bremen, you support the manufacturing of wing structures for wide body aircraft at Airbus.
The focus is on CFRP processing, curing processes in autoclaves, and adhesive joints on
high performance components.
Donauwörth
At Airbus Helicopters in Donauwörth, you contribute to composite structures for the H135
and H145 series. You operate equipment for manual and machine lamination, manage
curing processes, and execute bonding procedures in military and civil helicopter
manufacturing.

- Alternatively: career changer with solid experience in composite, coating, or bonding technology
- Practical experience in the aerospace environment or in processing high performance materials is an advantage
- Knowledge of prepreg processing, autoclave technology, RTM, hand lay up, or coating procedures
- Familiarity with aerospace specific standards (EN 9100, NADCAP) or willingness to acquire them
-
Confident reading of technical drawings, process instructions, and material data
sheets
-
Careful, precise way of working even under time pressure
- Willingness to work shifts and weekends depending on the project High sustained attention and quick reaction to process deviations
- Solid German and basic English skills
You don't meet all requirements? No problem.
