Aerodynamics is responsible for the aerodynamic design and characterization for all military aircraft programs along their product life cycle. The department uses numerical simulations, wind tunnel testing and flight test to understand the aerodynamic behavior and to create and deliver aircraft representative aerodynamic data and models for stability & control, performance, loads and aeroelastics.
The department is looking for an Aerodynamics Laboratory Technician (f/m/d) in the aerodynamics laboratory, to contribute to the mission with the following tasks and responsibilities:

Aufgaben
- Integration and Instrumentation of wind tunnel models
- Integration of mechanical and electromechanical components
- Strain gage application
- Sensor integration
- Support model / calibration assembly concept generation in coordination with relevant stakeholders both inside and outside of aerodynamics
- Maintenance and repair of wind tunnel models and measurement technology / data acquisition systems
- Assistance to measurement technology, electronics and wind tunnel engineers with manual tasks in the aerodynamics laboratory and during wind tunnel tests (occasional travel)
- Management of tool and inventory stock
- Support the quality assurance of outsourced components (participation in buy-off on site)
- Support model fabrication using in-house 3D print
- Contribution to test preparation
- Contribution to wind tunnel test execution in external wind tunnel facilities
Qualifikation
- Teamplayer
- Evident ability to learn and grow fast
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Willingness to travel (3x per year 1-4 weeks / USA, NL and within Germany)
- Elektrotechnik mind. Bachelor-Studiengang oder Practical training as Electrical and Electronics Technician or Precision Mechanics with a background in Electronics with long-term background
- MS-Office mind. detaill. Spezialkenntnisse
- Knowledge and experience in 3D printing is an advantage
- Deutsch mind. verhandlungssicher
- Englisch mind. verhandlungssicher
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience is a must
- Good knowledge about and experience in the application of measurement technology typically used in the wind tunnel test environment is mandatory
- Hands-on attitude in the Aerodynamics Laboratory and during wind tunnel tests as well as experience in model handling should be available
