Tasks
- Development and approval of metal, composite, and hybrid structures (components/assemblies) taking into account weight, cost, performance, and manufacturing and assembly requirements
- Evaluation of design changes, including cost estimation and feasibility within the framework of regulations, methods, processes, and guidelines
- Ensuring the quality and airworthiness of the components and assemblies for which you are responsible
- Managing and coordinating engineering partners and suppliers, including tracking results and deadlines
- Working closely in multifunctional teams with structural analysis, manufacturing, program/project, configuration, and systems
- Actively driving improvements in digitalization and automation in the engineering environment
Qualifications
- Completed degree in aerospace engineering or a technical degree (at least a bachelor's degree)
- Many years of professional experience as a design engineer and in aerospace
- Extensive experience in the aviation development process is essential
- Basic knowledge of change management and proven experience in stakeholder management
- Fundamental understanding of metal, composite, and hybrid design principles
- Very good knowledge of CATIA V5 (including detailed functions) and VPM is a major advantage
- Airbus experience desirable and knowledge of PASS SSCI, VPM, APS, and ICC-ACP an advantage
- Business fluent German and English skills (at least C1 in each)
- A valid, unrestricted work permit for the European Union (no student visa) is essential
