Tasks
- Development of detailed mechanical designs for the installation of systems, components, and subsystems (e.g., devices, antennas, device carriers, pipelines, purchased and standard parts)
- Creation of 3D models and 2D drawings in CATIA V5 in accordance with internal and external standards
- Performing tolerance analyses, collision checks, and kinematic studies to ensure assembly capability and function
- Creation of manufacturing and installation documents, including parts lists, and maintenance of data in IT systems
- Coordination with stakeholders and collaboration with systems engineering, analysis, manufacturing, and assembly
- Support with verification and validation (digitally in 3D mockups and on site at the aircraft) through tests and reviews
- Supervision of parts manufacturing and installations, including the application of rapid change procedures
- Contribution to the continuous improvement of design processes and tools
Qualifications
- Degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering, or a comparable technical field (at least a master's degree/diploma)
- Many years of professional experience in design (ideally on aircraft, especially installation of equipment components)
- Experience in the mechanical installation of devices, components, and piping, including structural connections, device carriers, and mounts
- Strong ability to work with complex drawing sets (researching construction statuses/pre-MOD and integration of new modifications)
- Comprehensive knowledge of CATIA V5 and model management tools (e.g., VPM) and product data management
- Business fluent German and English skills (at least C1)
- A valid, unrestricted work permit for the European Union (no student visa) is mandatory
