Tasks
- Manufacturing and processing of components made of glass and carbon fibre using hand lay-up and vacuum infusion methods
- Performing repairs on GFRP and CFRP components in coordination with engineering
- Creating technical documentation in the form of work instructions for the repair process
- Integration and completion of repaired components
- Applying standard procedures such as scarfing, core repairs, filling and paint preparation
- Handling and processing epoxies, fibres and auxiliary materials in compliance with occupational safety regulations
Qualifications
- Completed vocational training as a Process Mechanic for Plastics and Rubber Technology (with a focus on fibre composites), Carpenter, Industrial Mechanic or a comparable skilled trade qualification with experience in fibre composite processing
- Several years of experience in working with fibre-reinforced materials, particularly using hand lay-up and vacuum infusion methods
- Proficient in standard repair techniques (e.g. scarfing, core repairs, filling and paint preparation)
- Sound knowledge of the properties of epoxies and fibres, as well as commonly used materials, auxiliaries and adhesive bonding techniques
- Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings and construction specifications
- Experience in model making is a plus
- Strong awareness of occupational safety when handling hazardous substances (e.g. epoxies)
A valid, unrestricted work permit for the European Union (no student visa) is mandatory
